• Dr. Atif Mehmood is specialist and advisor in Transport Planning working with the Ministry of Transport, Qatar. He has a PhD degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Transport Engineering. He has more than 24 years of experience in Traffic Engineering /Transport Planning, including Transport Master Plans, Traffic Impact Studies, Public Transport Planning and Operations, Public Transport Infrastructure Design and Construction, Mobility and Transport solutions for managing Mega events such as FIFA 2022 World Cup & Asian Football Cup 2024, Project Management, Highway Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Policy and Guidelines Development, Road Safety Audit and Review, Design and Operations of Traffic and Transit Control Centers: Operations Control Center for Public Transport Services (OCC), FIFA 2022 WC Transport Coordination Center (TCC), Traffic simulation and queuing analysis, Design of pavement marking, signage, and Traffic Control Plans as well as Business Development.

• He is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ontario, Canada. He is also well familiar with the application of Canadian and American design guidelines (AASHTO and TAC) for Highway Engineering, the Traffic Manuals and Transportation Planning Guidelines (Ontario & ITE, HCM, and MUTCD) for Transportation Engineering. He has over 10 years of working experience in the GCC and familiarity with the guidelines/standards from the Middle East countries (Qatar and Dubai). He has excellent command in transport engineering related software packages like VISUM, TRANSCAD, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, AUTOCAD, CIVIL DESIGN/LDD, and AUTOTURN as well as proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
