Rahat achieved his BSc Aeronautical Engineering degree from Imperial College, University of London, his Masters degree in Aerostructures from Cranfield University UK, and his MBA from University of Bradford, UK
Early career: Worked as Aero Structures Engineer for British Aerospace and Westland Helicopters in the UK and did a brief stint at PIA in Karachi
Mid career: Evolved into technical & business risk management working for organizations such as the Atomic Energy Authority (UK) and Turner and Townsend (Transport and Infrastructure projects)
Mid-late career: Came to Qatar in 2006 as Head of Project Risk Management for one of the mega LNG projects (Qatargas). In 2010 established the Corporate Enterprise Risk Management Department for Qatargas, achieving CEO Excellence Award. Currently Head of Enterprise Risk and Organizational Resilience for Qatar Energy LNG
Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and Board Member IRM 2018-23. Certified Business Continuity Practitioner (CBCI)
Presenter and Chair at numerous conferences over 20 years and visiting speaker at Texas A&M (Qatar) and some Pakistani Universities
